purple cows

Already mentioned, Marlin model 90 in 16 gauge isn't pretty, but it they do have double triggers.  However, I put forward another vote for the Merkel Model 200.  They came with double triggers and straight stock and were indeed available in 16 gauge.  They also weigh less then 7 lbs and feel very lively.  I had an opportunity to buy one years ago before I got into shooting double trigger guns and stupidly passed. That was indeed a very nice gun.  The Model 201 is indeed the same gun with better Germanic style engraving.

Tough to beat this for the money....

S56

Sexy solid side rib and DT's as a game gun should have. I made my longest ever witnessed kill on a pheasant with one just like it.

I know a fella in Vermont who could have this restocked with an orangutan LOP and ready for pheasants by next season.

I think I'm ready to join the cult of the purple cow.  I love my SxS, but there's something special about a long barreled, double triggered, straight gripped, solid ribbed, blacked out 20 gauge over under.

The funny thing is, I already have what might be the perfect 20 gauge game gun - am English stocked, DT, Merkel 201E.  Unfortunately, she's a little too petite for my oafish physique.

So if anybody wants to trade, let me know.

Well if you're willing to skip the double triggers bosco. The citori superlight feathers are simply awesome. I've sold almost all of my sxs's ( except one) and have a 28,20,16, and 12 in this configuration, all but the twelve are balanced great and under 6 pounds

Yeah, your gun is pretty damn sweet too. I admit to heavily lusting over it and Pat said it was for sale...but I figured you'd charge me double if you'd sell it to me at all.

So I consoled myself with the fact that it was a shade too heavy. Which isn't really true, but it helped me to be okay with what I have.

Your Cole guns fit the bill darn near perfectly.

That is a sweet gun.

I was cleaning guns at Berry's after Thursday and Friday's rain, and happen to notice Pat had a band saw right there; I almost removed an inch-and-a-half from the Beretta's LOP so I could try it myself.

Scratch, you should have gotten Pat to let you shoot the riz...... that is the quintessential 20ga o/u gme gun,  a tad heavy at 6 3/8lbs( with the 29" barrels + external screw in's), solid rib, double triggers and it is stuck with a POW.... close to your LOP at 15 1/8 :<img src=:'>..... though it it's worth about 2 1/2 times what the cole is

Furman has the kids stock and 26" barrels at his house...... you should have had him set it up for you..... it balances just like the big gun set up like that, and you wouldn't have had  someone to run the band saw for you.....
