Quilomene is back as Q5?!

Recommended Posts

redrockin7

So while my original/only Quil (the San Carlos) is holding up pretty well after 3 seasons, I was just mentioning to some hunting buddies over the weekend that I wish I would have bought at least one, or maybe several, more before Quilomene quit making vests. I was thinking I might even have to beg Hunshatt to sell me some of his stock he bought back then.

Fastforward to today. I google Quilomene out of curiosity and it looks like they/he has a new website, "Q5", and is still selling vests. Is this true?! If so, I'm pretty ecstatic!

First of all, we want to say "Thanks" to Brad Eden for the welcome (even though we missed responding to that specific post).  It is good to know there are people out there such as Brad who are willing to apply the time, effort, and know-how to provide such a great forum for the ideas, thoughts, and stories of upland bird hunters.  We are looking forward to being a part of it and hope to respond to more posts than we have had the opportunity to do in the past.

There are lots of interesting ideas in the works for both Quilomene and Q5 vests.  The foundational goal of Q5 Outdoor Products is to provide high-quality vests with great customer service.  We also contribute a % of sales to Arizona Outdoor Adventures, a 501©3 organization we started in 1997.  It's all about getting kids, especially underprivileged kids, in the great outdoors.  Look over our website sometime when you get an opportunity:  AOA

We are always open to positive and constructively critical comments and feedback regarding our vests.  I continue to be out in the field every bird season and am always thinking of new ideas and products (watch for a minimal Q5 vest to come out fairly soon!).  The best to each of you and Happy Thanksgiving!

Can't wait to get the ones I ordered... have a month left of the season here in New England.. The initial reports from Fritz are there are some nice improvements over the original (which was my all time favorite... and pro staff endorsed  :<img src=:'> )

+1 - looking forward to checking out the minimal vest.

Have a San Carlos that is well broken in and still going strong - is it possible to actually wear one of these out?

I've got over 10 season on mine... it's dirty .. and faded.. (one of the first nylon ones) ... but I keep using it.. even though there are 3 replacements (all I have left from buying all the stock Steve had before closing and giving them as gifts ) on the shelf and a new Q5 version on the way...

so the answer is.. I don't know

most likely...

the new ones arrived .. all I can say is...

Quillomene is dead.. long live the new quillomene

Have only played with it a few minutes.. holy chit.. .this is the vest I've always wanted..

real hip belt, still super light and able to transfer back heat... gigantic pockets.. the material seems to be indestructible ... game bag that is plenty big for well, anything short of a heavily stocked  preserve hunt...

I have a couple of the old style Quills that I'm suddenly willing to part with for a fair price... that is how much I like this new one
