Tom Brady takes a hit, legacy not the same,

is the brady deal less or more than the following things/people:

pete rose- betting on baseball (not against his team though)

jerry rice- used stickum when it was illegal, but owned up to it

any of the roid guys high in the HR category

i put him in the class with the roid guys who continue to deny.

Each to his own, but for the life of me I can't equate this to using 'riods. To me, that's  far worse than  taking a pound of pressure out of a football.

What he did was nothing that's not been fudged with before, and it had nothing to do with the outcome of a football game.

This is a political free zone, so I  won't go into what I think is the real driving force behind this.

That's the exact point. This Brady issue is nothing compared to what happened with Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson. But it's being dealt with by the media in a very similar manner.

i disagree completely on this. its gone from the media for the most part. i still see ray dragging his wife into that elevator from time to time.

it wouldnt have been nearly as big if brady wouldnt have lied.

I really am having trouble understanding your point here. But so be it, we all are entitled to our own opinion.

When you say "its gone from the media for the most part", have you not looked at the leading stories on Sporting News, Sports Illustrated, Fox Sports, ESPN, or any of the other news out lets websites?

Check it out: Lead story on each of them.

The commissioner doesn't want any kind of bad press but I think this has less of a negative impact than things like the Ray Rice or Adrian Peterson issues. I think it's safe to say that most of the public takes less offense to deflating footballs than to knocking your girlfriend unconscious and dragging her across the floor.

That's the exact point. This Brady issue is nothing compared to what happened with Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson. But it's being dealt with by the media in a very similar manner.

I agree and I think the public would agree. That's why I feel that, given a choice, the commissioner would prefer to have the media report on Brady's deflated balls than on Ray Rice's domestic violence. He knows it's asking too much to think they might report on all the good things NFL players do.

Then why would you say "its gone from the media for the most part"?

I see where you are trying to go with this, but I don't agree with it's something the Commish would rather deal with.

I mean, it involves coming down on one of the best players ever, who for the most part, is a terrific role who's previously been squeaky clean.

Because he's come down hard on the likes of Ray Rice and Adrain Peterson, there's going to be a lot of pressure to come down hard on Brady -- even for a crime that's basically equal to a speeding ticket compared to what Rice and Peterson did.

I think in reality, this all is going to cause him more mental grief than either of those situations have.

"Remember, Tom likes the balls at 12.5 lbs."

That is a proper ball.  Case closed.

Play ball.

Here's a great example of what I'm talking about, from one of the media's biggest total idiots, Keith Olbermann.

http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl....atriots

Hardly a case of ""its gone from the media for the most part", and an excellent  example of someone trying to bring down a player with his media coverage.

I will never listen or read anything this jerk ever puts out again.

Ovalman is even worse than that other guy.  The guy on CBS at night.  He is quitting soon.  That guy.

I wonder how the other 31 QB's in this league are going to like having their game balls scrutinized over the coming year....we already know Rogers likes his over inflated (also a violation of the rules).

Anybody other than me notice that Ovalman chooses his eyeglasses from the lady's catalog?  Shouldn't someone inform him of this?

Panem et circenses.

You want a "

Smoking gun"? I think besides his public ( on the podiums lies) of Brady " not even knowing the ball

Guy" . This is why

http://www.sharpfootballanalysis.com/blog....in-2007

That's simply someone's fabricated theory, nothing more.

Totally worthless information.
