Probably about five miles from where you live.  Second one this year from the same pit.

Congrats, Kerry.  Always interesting to get a small hint about a big mystery.  Word yet on the geographic and temporal origin of the band?

Yup,  5 year old female banded within 10 miles of where I was hunting this morning.

The earlier one this year was a bit more than a year old, banded in Manitoba.   And they wound up in the same field.

I think one of the 10 commandments of waterfowling is "Thou shall not covet the other hunters banded bird".

Forgive me for I have sinned. I am jealous.

Congrats, that's my kind of jewelry.

Congrats, now don't to what I did with the one band I've gotten, which is put it on your key chain and then loose your keys while pheasant hunting!

Argh!

A nice thing to do with a single goose band is to send it to C&S Calls in Minnesota, which will cast it in resin and use it in one of their most excellent calls.

Black Pearl, Blue & Black Pearl

Yeah, the first one from this year is getting that treatment right now. I hope to be blowing before our season goes out Jan. 12 ...

Spend too much time on waterfowl boards and am well aware of CS calls, but that's the first time I've seen bands used that way.
