To the Guests who have decided to register for Membership. PLEASE add more info than just  "hunting" or "Upland hunting" or "birds" or "outdoors" or similar nebulous terms in the required INTERESTS field. Despite this Boards strong spam filtering it is not bullet proof, so Spam registrations do sneak through. I need an inkling that you are a warm blooded human being not a Spam Bot tagging onto key words. Thank you.

C&S makes some awesome calls! He's from near where I do most of my goose hunting! Awesome guy too!

Scroll up.  About a year old, hen, banded in Manitoba.

Great memento and call there.

Something dawned on me when I read through this whole thread again.  If those were resident geese (highly likely, in that the adult was banded nearby), then there is a very good chance that the yearling bird was a molt migrant when it was banded in Manitoba.....  returned home in autumn..... and...... THWACK!  Wound up adorning your very nice bejeweled call.

Charlo, the younger bird was deemed too young to fly when banded in Manitoba in 2015.  The adult was definitely a resident bird.

We shoot both residents and MVP geese here; the MVP geese used to go all the way to Cairo/Horseshoe Lake but these days don't often get that far.
