Beets stacked and waiting for the sugar factory. Windmills and beets are taking over what use to be good pheasant ground.

I'd like to say we walked 10 miles and flushed 10 coveys, but this is in my back yard and she's after a rabbit.  ¬¬

I've been healing up from a broken shoulder for the past couple weeks and haven't wanted to risk falling in the field and then needing major surgery.   The past two days were oddly very warm and I couldn't stand to sit any more, so the dogs and I took a couple non-hunting walks.

Joy on the trail up to the little mountain lake by my house in low January early morning light:

The little wood duck pond is normally frozen this time of year, but this day it was putting out heavy fog from the cold water in the warm air.

Chubs

A couple pups I have at the moment. I'm thinking pretty seriously about keeping this liver one for a while.

Chubs I could see why it would be hard to send that little liver pups down the road. What a look.

Well, we do still have some wild bobs in Va. Managed to find a covey of about a dozen this morning:)
