67/68 Mercury Monterey...not many of those around.  Cool old cars, dashboard is very good looking in those old boats, and quite a few came with 410 or 428ci so they can be really nice highway cars with some oomph.  They can even be done up as musclecar, I see a lot of '68 Coronet in the style with a swoopier roofline.

My father had an early 60's corvair convertible which was the subject of Ralph Nader's unsafe at any speed. He sold it shortly thereafter. We had a volkswagen bug that came without a gas gauge. It had a lever you turned for a reserve of gas if you ran out. Kept a note pad on dash keeping track of miles and gallons. No seatbelts, no kids car seats its amazing we survived.

I had a 4-door 1950 Studebaker for a short while while I was in college. A neat car, it had overdrive, a hill-holder brake, a push button radio, and a rear seat heater. When I bought it the car had a seized piston in it's flat head 6 engine. I removed the head, put a piece of scrap wood on top of the piston and smacked it with a sledge hammer... voila! Problem solved. After I put the head back on it started right up. I'd only paid $50 for the car and I soon sold it for $300 (this was 1968 after all).

I saw this bad boy south of Saratoga WY. The guy must need a stepladder to get in and out of the thing. And, what if he were to park in a field of hungry cattle.
