      WELCOME NEW UJ MEMBERS   06/25/2017

It seems the word is out and UJ is enjoying a steady stream of newly Registered Members. Welcome to all of you, and we are all looking forward to your positive participation. I strongly suggest you review the Board Guidelines that have been in place since 2002. The most significant thing being that UJ is a NO POLITICS BOARD. LInk:  UJ BOARD GUIDELINES   Also UJ stays afloat mainly through Member Donations. Once a Donation is made you are placed in the Contributing Member Group with extra Priviliges. I am getting very few new Donations so hopefully this will spur that on a bit. Link:  New Members/Donations/Priviliges

Getting a better look at the bird that The Little Guy thinks he might have had a part in shooting with his BB Gun😎50FB3B66-703D-432F-B775-567D5C0E116C.thumb.jpeg.7b32336eae47add1d1efefe5e2c56eba.jpeg

My wife snapped this one of me and my pup Smooch after a successful find, point, and retrieve. Good girl, Smooch.

My first ever pheasant (none in Newfoundland). My only bird on a rough shooting day in Shropshire, but it was enough! A “walk and stand” day coming up tomorrow and then two formal driven days on Friday and Saturday.  The gun is an 1890’s Holland and Holland Royal borrowed from Diggory Hadoke’s (Vintage Guns Ltd.) Gunroom.

Nice. Where are you shooting this week? We shot Crofton today, have Eskrick on Friday, and Watton on Saturday.

Today we shot a small shoot in N. Yorkshire just inside the moors. It was a woodland shoot, and presented some nice birds. We shot 72, mostly pheasant, and 1 partridge. I’ve got more phots, but they’ll have to wait until I’m home to transfer them off the camera.

I should also mention that Monday night I met up with UJer Richard (Sorry Richard, your UJ handle evades me at this time) for dinner at a fantastic pub.

Afraid I don’t know the names of the shoots but they are all close by to where I am, just outside Ludlow. I do know that tomorrow will be on the same private syndicate area we shot today, but today we just walked hedges and a couple of small woods on the boundaries. The driven shoots on the weekend are on a partly commercial patch where the owner sells a few days to help finance his own shooting.
