Check Your E-Collars From Time to Time

Recommended Posts

Yukon1

Last week my two collars did not seem to be working well, so I had my wife hold the transmitter while I took them for a walk. She would periodically hit the tone and stim buttons to get an idea of their working range. Turns out my transmitter was shot, even with a new battery and was failing to deliver a signal more than twenty feet away. Fortunately I have a backup transmitter which I also tested (works fine) and will finish the season with that.  In the seven plus years I've had this setup it never occurred to me to check the range other than when I first purchased it.

Just make sure when you test the collars, you really trust the person pushing the buttons... :)

Tri Tronics Sport Basic G3.  My other transmitter (the working one) is the Tri Tronics Upland G3.
