      WELCOME NEW UJ MEMBERS   06/25/2017

It seems the word is out and UJ is enjoying a steady stream of newly Registered Members. Welcome to all of you, and we are all looking forward to your positive participation. I strongly suggest you review the Board Guidelines that have been in place since 2002. The most significant thing being that UJ is a NO POLITICS BOARD. LInk:  UJ BOARD GUIDELINES   Also UJ stays afloat mainly through Member Donations. Once a Donation is made you are placed in the Contributing Member Group with extra Priviliges. I am getting very few new Donations so hopefully this will spur that on a bit. Link:  New Members/Donations/Priviliges

waterfowl hunting scenery

Some friends and I are new to waterfowl and are enjoying it quite a bit.  Lots of interesting things to learn as far as species, behaviors and habitat, etc.  Some experienced guys are showing us the way a little at a time.  Here are a few snapshots of my education so far:

If'n I hadn't just lost my phone on my trip to North Dakota this past week I would be able to contribute.  Sadly, when my young dog finally figured out pheasants on Friday I was so excited I fell over in a tangle, not remembering that I had stuck my phone in an outside pocket.

Those are great pictures.  I usually get one right at daybreak with some reeds between me and decoys.

Why the first one is rotated I have no idea but anyway.  I have friends I water fowl with.  They help this neophyte through it.

You're on a mighty slippery slope, Dennis.

The sun brings out the morning, the first year puppy Penny understands to keep her head down, and she returns the fruits of the day.

So true, I’ve slid down the slope... family, dog work and friends is still what “it’s all about”!  My son started out in the uplands, then turkey and now a die hard waterfowler. We now buy ammo by the cases. Lol
