      WELCOME NEW UJ MEMBERS   06/25/2017

It seems the word is out and UJ is enjoying a steady stream of newly Registered Members. Welcome to all of you, and we are all looking forward to your positive participation. I strongly suggest you review the Board Guidelines that have been in place since 2002. The most significant thing being that UJ is a NO POLITICS BOARD. LInk:  UJ BOARD GUIDELINES   Also UJ stays afloat mainly through Member Donations. Once a Donation is made you are placed in the Contributing Member Group with extra Priviliges. I am getting very few new Donations so hopefully this will spur that on a bit. Link:  New Members/Donations/Priviliges

When it goes south

Saturday morn while out trying to beat the mid day temps my ole boy Creek fractured his tibia. We’re not quite sure how he did it as he was out about two hundred yds, off the top of a ridge hunting for Chukar. So many ways to get hurt on the Chukar hills Im surprised it doesn’t happen more often. Silently I wonder about karma, I mean how many Innocent Chukar can a Shorthair point & a guy kill before you’ve cursed yourself? One of the many ponderings that run through my mind while I sit here by my sedated buddy. Creek was discharged from the small animal hospital today after undergoing a plate and screw procedure to repair his spiral fractured tibia. According to the Surgeon all went well. He’s slowly starting use it(tough hound) He’s out for this season recovering so we’re down to the two year old. Gawdamn Chukar, one way or another you will pay...

Tough break for the old guy. Had to be a tough exit from the places you hunt.

Good luck with the healing for Creek. I remember when he was a pupster too.

Poor pup, he sure doesn't look too impressed.

Crazy the way stuff happens that you can't answer.

Heal well!

Looks as if the doc did a nice job, all the best for a speedy recovery.

Good luck with the leg; its a miracle that man and dog alike don't break a lot more bones in chukar country.  I had a setter jump off a twenty  foot cliff full speed as she bore down on a falling dead bird "shot over the edge", and all she had was cut foot pads .  By all rights she should have broken two front legs at least.  .   Dogs are tough and healing is quick for them.

That's tough. I hope he gets well and get's after them next fall. I sense some payback in their future.

Seeing that just makes me feel really bad that he had to go through that and really good that he will hunt again.

I'm glad you have access to that kind of care!
