Fun field hunt this morning with elderly neighbors (elderly meaning anyone older than me),  average age for the group being 77.  Hey, we all survived!9_9

Nice and I like the average age and them being able to still get after it.

Not bad for a bunch of old fogies. That valley looks stunning.

I suspect that the last hunt of my lifetime will be on Canada geese ... you can just get to them easier than many other species.  Fortunately, they are also my favorite birds to hunt.

If the last two shots I take are on a pair of decoying honkers, I would be well pleased.  I wouldn't even mind (much) if one of them got out ...

It is.  And I feel truly blessed by living where I do.

Try to look at the upside. Those Depends give you an extra layer of warmth in a cold goose blind.

Likely same here, Kerry, though hopefully not for awhile yet.  Easy in some ways for sure, and yet ya gotta be doing things more or less right in order to get them in tight, fair and square. That day they were working exceptionally well to the call -- always an additional thrill.

Oops, gotta go -- there is scouting to be done!

Agree ... but at least where I hunt geese, you don't have to do a Bataan Death March through sucking marsh mud to get to the right spot where they'll work your decoys  ... some of the places where I've chased ducks, not so much.

I hope that I’m still hunting waterfowl at 77.

That would be sweet!
