These beautiful birds always put a smile on me face with their dapper plumage and antics whilst foraging for food.

They also love putting holes in my house. It's like Carl Spackler vs the Gopher all over again.

Nice Photos!  The second prettiest bird I've had to chase off my siding, I rate the Pileated  higher.  It is easier discourage the Pileated, though, they seem to understand "Quit pounding on my siding"  better than the little Red Bellied guys.  Good thing they do, too ;).

Love this woodpecker.  Mostly Downy and Hairy Woodpeckers in Northern Indiana.
