anyone ever dealt with this?  thought my 13 year old lab had a stroke, but the vet informed me that vertigo is much more likely...said it should go away in a week or so...he has some dementia, so it all seemed like a stroke, but I think she may be on to something...he had his appetite back this morning...still stumbling around like a drunk...

Most likely is "Canine Vestibular Syndrome".  Sometimes called "old dog disease".

It usually goes away without treatment within a week to ten days.

Google 'canine vestibular syndrome".

Until the dizziness fades, usually a few days at least.  It will go away on it's own but the medicine helps a lot in the mean time.
