What boots have you found worked good in the fall on flat ground?? I've got Mendel's with a very stiff soul for chukar hunting in steep rocky country, but my flat land boots are in need of replacement.

Thanks, Steve

Have not used them for hunting yet but have been wearing a pair of Danner Mountain 600 for about 3 months.  There are wide enough for my foot, very comfortable and suprisingly light.  Not sure how they will hold up since the leather just glues to the sole.  I wore the Crater Rim this winter and loved them, but they are a heavier boot so made the switch to Mountian 600 for summer.

I use Russell’s,  over the years I have acquired a variety of them and really like them.

i buy off the shelf by size and do not go the custom route that some seem to have challenges with.
