I have acquired a two blade folding knife, folded 5 1/4, open 9 1/4, handle real bone, manufacture reads "Kinsman" #6292, made U.S.A.

I would describe as used, but not abused, I would like any ideas on what I have got, many thanks..

Cooter Brown

It's an old brand, collectable.  My recollection is that it was founded by the Case family--yeah, that Case family.

The name has been resurrected at least once and reproductions and I think new models as well have been made.

That's about the extent of what I know off the top of my head--at least what I can remember.  I used to dabble in pocketknife collecting.

The bladeforum and allaboutpocketknives forums should have a bunch of searchable info you could access.  Both of those places have some serious collectors.

Looking forward to pics.

Speaks

I thought I knew knives pretty well but that was a new one for me. Some quick research shows they made a bunch of hunting knives but folders were pretty rare. They shut down in 58 so reasonably old. Didnt see anything related to value.
