Sharpen serrated electric fillet knife

Recommended Posts

Remo

Picked up a diamond coated rod sharpener that works great on the electric fillet knife. Just a few strokes on each blade dimple and one swipe across the back of the blade.

Remo,

Thanks for the tip!  I have one similar to it, but it just does not sharpen as it should.  I use the Electric Fisherman fillet knives and can dull them quickly going through rib bones.  (I should change my technique, but hate to!)

I'll have to try the AccuSharp.

I have an old diamond rod sharpener. It works fine for some things, but the serrated blade, unfortunately, is not among those particular things. Reason being..... diameter of the rod does not match appropriate diameter of the serrations on some / many / most serrated blades.  It looks to me as if the tapered rod on this tool could solve that problem.  Well worth a try, I'd say.
