Hope to take a nice Antelope early Saturday morning, I'd like to have it all processed by Saturday evening.

A drive to North Central SD on Saturday night or Sunday morning, local reports are [lenty of birds and plenty of water.

Both Flynt and I are ready to go!

Sounds like fun.  My antelope season starts on October 12th. I'm looking forward to it.

Antelope hunting just North of Sturgis in the shadow of Bear Butte - scouted tonight, put a dozen goats to bed and we have a well concealed path through the Round Bales to get into position to take a couple at dawn. One buck and 12 does/fawnsAntelope.thumb.jpg.f200d91212f479b78f4072fe3d178470.jpg

Antelope won Round 1,  the easy goats had moved on us overnight, may have had to do with the wind coming up and blowing 30-40 mph, and could have had to do with the rain as well.

Did see a few bucks but they were quite skittish, tried a few stalks but couldn't get closer than 250 yards, which in the wind exceeded my capabilities as a rifleman.

4 rounds expended no casualties, after the first at-bat Goats 1 - John 0

Will try again in a couple of weeks
