~ GUNNING IN STYLE ~ WATERFOWL BEWARE

Recommended Posts

Irishwhistler

Aye Mates,

Me buddy Greg and his Uncle Pete made a run Friday and Saturday out to Ohio to pick up his new custom built Duckwater and Duckwater Mini waterfowl hunting rig.  It is all set up for the Suzuki 125 that Greg will be putting on it sometime in the next couple of weeks.  Greg is the owner of REX, a chocolate Labrador Retriever male gun dog prospect that I am currently training  for him, and STORM, a standard poodle gun dog that just earned his first hunt test title.

I will be working with Greg in teaching the dogs how to exit and enter the vessel.  Note that there is a "dog door" that Greg had the builder place in the transom, and "steps" leading to the platform at the aft end.

A very sweet rig for gunning out of.  WATERFOWL BEWARE !!!

Cheers,

THE DOG WHISTLER ☘️🇮🇪🇺🇸

You'd think that would be enough to avoid such an experience wouldn't you?

It is quite the boat.  I had a much, much smaller version years ago that i regret selling- TDB-14 Classic.  I occasionally check the classifieds to see if a great deal might pop up locally.

But PRICELESS times spent on the water with grand friends and great dogs. 👍😊

The high water up in this part of the country has compelled me to use a boat where, not that many years ago, I often walked out, with a backpack (and a Labrador, of course 😉).  The duck hunting was better then, too.  Now it's deeper than Mallards really like, but not open long enough (early freeze-up) for many divers to show up.

Wow, nice!  Also nice garage/shop.  I'm trying to get to where I can see the floor in mine.
