Is there any way to download the CD's onto the Upland Journal site as MP3's so that we can all listen?

Just a thought........

I'll look. I might have it/them in storage.

Thats not a bad idea-I'll look into it. . .but I am seriously burdened by my dial-up here at home-it really has become a huge obstacle to the general UJ develoment. Hopefully it will come to my area soon. . .

Here is the final list of 25 members.

I will print out the list in order and include that list with the CD's. The person who has the CD's must contact the next member via board PM/and or e-mail to get their address and ship it on, etc., etc., etc. The last person can send it back to me.

I'll put in a small notebook or something in the package for peoples comments and observations etc., which should be sent with the CD's.

I'll get the package out to first member this week. Bon voyage!

Brad, if you agree to add a 26th, I'll make 5 copies and send individual CD sets to # 27-31.  (Always considered bribery a noble negotiation tool  )

I am presently listening to the CDs.  I even have the envelope made up to send them to Hairy Clipper - most likely the beginning of next week.

It occurred to me, as I was listening to Gene reading his work, that I knew most of the names of the stories.  Based on recollection and reference to the collection of Gene’s books in my library, I decided to compile the following list of his readings, by CD and track number, in case anyone can use it when they get the CDs.

Here it is:

CD#1:

Track 1: Being There (from Mostly Tailfeathers) including …

             • Why I Like To Hunt With You (from Hill Country)

             • Voices from Woodcock Country (from The Whispering Wings of Autumn)

             • Evening Songs (from A Hunter’s Fireside Book).

Track 2: The Woodcock Gun (from A Hunter's Fireside Book)

Track 3: Why Not? (from  A Hunter's Fireside Book)

Track 4: The Lost Dog (from Tears & Laughter)

Track 5: Texas Digest (from Hill Country)

Track 6: Changes (from Hill Country)

Track 7: Brown Dog (from Tears & Laughter)

CD#2:

Track 1: Trash or Treasures (from Hill Country)

Track 2: The Horseman (from Mostly Tailfeathers)

Track 3: The Primrose Path (from A  Hunter's Fireside Book)

Track 4: The Game of Grouse (from Tears & Laughter)

Track 5: Old Tom (from A Hunter's Fireside Book)

Track 6: Martin (from Mostly Tailfeathers)

Track 7: Christmas Trees (from Hill Country)

Track 8: Bottoms Up! (from Hill Country)

Track 9: The Stranger (from A Hunter's Fireside Book)

Track 10: The Old Songs (from A Hunter's Fireside Book)

Hearing Gene Hill's "Old Tom", "Martin" and "The Stranger" read in the writer's own voice, in his way, is absolutely priceless.

Thanks, Brad!

If all works out I should get the CD's back the beginning of 2007. I'll restart this Topic and send them out to the next 25 members who ask to be on new list.

I might be able to get another set of CD's and will start Hill CD Odyssey II then.

Michigan Dave

Is it too late to add my name to the list?  Maybe I'll get them in time for the Fall hunting season (2007, 2008 ...).

Can I be burned in? I'll send whomever has them CDs.

I’ll join the list for Round II of the tour….

------------------

Spring’s an expansive time: yet I don’t trust

March with its peck of dust,

Nor April with its rainbow-crowned brief showers,

Nor even May, whose flowers

One frost may wither thro’ the sunless hours.
