# Global warming???

On one hand, if the climate really is warming, what type of Setter would be best for a walk in the warmer grouse woods, Llewellin or Rymen?

Duhhhhhh cover dog setters, everyone knows that.

QUOTE

Big running or close ranging so you could give him water more often to cope with the additional heat?

Big running of course.  Dog ranges out, finds water, gets a drink and is back to work finding birds.  Boot lickers will be coming back in every couple minutes for another drink.

Finally, someone else who takes this topic seriously without all the grabassery.

I hate to break it to all you deniers out there but I have 100% proof that global warming is in fact happening. Look at the chart below and look at the daily avg high. This chart is for Bozeman,MT were I live. It gets warmer every single day. I am pretty sure the debate is over.

Arctic sea ice and permafrost melting, polar bears heading towards extiction due to habitat loss(ie sea ice) Greenland ice pack melting, Antarctic ice shelfs breaking off and disappearing, glaciers receding and disappearing all over the world at an accelarated rate. Nah, there's no climate change.

At one time Pa used to be covered with glaciers that extended down into what is now the Chesapeake Bay.  Seems this warming has been going on for a long time already.  Couldnt stop it then and aint gonna stop it now.

No worries, I stocked up on carbon credits we will be fine.

Canadian biologist Dr. Mitchell Taylor, one of the foremost authorities on polar bears, says: "We're seeing an increase in bears that's really unprecedented, and in places where we're seeing a decrease in the population it's from hunting, not from climate change." Dr. Taylor is a real scientist who actually goes out into the field and tracks, observes, tags, and counts polar bears and other arctic mammals. He has been doing this for over two decades, unlike the computer modelers who are making their dire predictions based on their own theoretical climate scenarios.

More on Dr. Taylor and his findings are available from the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works:

"Of the 13 populations of polar bears in Canada, 11 are stable or increasing in number. They are not going extinct, or even appear to be affected at present," Taylor said, noting that Canada is home to two-thirds of the world's polar bears.

He added: "It is just silly to predict the demise of polar bears in 25 years based on media-assisted hysteria."

In September, Taylor further debunked the latest report hyping fears of future polar bear extinctions.

"I think it's naive and presumptuous," Taylor said, referring to a recent report by the U.S. government warning that computer models predict a dire future for the bears due to projected ice loss....

Taylor also debunked the notion that less sea ice means less polar bears by pointing out that southern regions of the bears' home with low levels of ice are seeing booming bear populations. He noted that in the warmer southern Canadian region of the Davis Strait with lower levels of ice, a new survey will reveal that bear populations have grown from an estimated 850 bears to an estimated 3000 bears. And, despite the lower levels of ice, some of the bears measured in this region are among the biggest ever on record.

"Davis Strait is crawling with polar bears. It's not safe to camp there. They're fat. The mothers have cubs. The cubs are in good shape," he said, according to a September 14, 2007 article.

He added: "That's not theory. That's not based on a model. That's observation of reality."

An the ice mass in Antarctic ice is growing, not melting away.  It just makes sense that some will break off as it grows.

I remember when Philip Morris scientists "proved" cigarettes were not harmful.

It must be pointed out that no one has proven those Philip Morris scientists to be wrong.

and I have proof we have been warming back to "NORMAL" temps since the really big rock the earth and caused the last ice age, Normal is about avg winter low of 63 f here in ohio trust the earth has long way to go untill she fully recovers FROM THAT NATURAL EVENT from which are we ARE NATURALLY WARMING and recovering from.

I heard about the global warming and how it would raise the sea level so I ran out and bought an ocean view property. As soon as it becomes ocean front I'm selling and retiring on the profits.

Why the Global Warming Model is Wrong

In addition, have the Global Warming Believers ever made a prediction that has come true?  While I do not think so, that is a broad statement (even a broken clock is right twice a day).  So I will rephrase the question and ask "have any of their major predictions come to past"?.  As an example, about 12 years ago, did they not predict the world would come to an end in 2010? (not literally of course).

The issue with debating with the believers is that they are no longer using science but rather Global Warming has become a relegion with a lot of money at stake.  We can only win by using real science and showing the data to the middle of the road types.
