Downtown Bang!
Been enjoying some James McMurtry lately and those who cover his music. Out Here In The Middle by McMurtry. Like the Robert Earle Keen cover too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmrXvkWO7q0 Choctaw Bingo Cover By Ray Wily Hubbard. Cover of Keene's The Road Goes On Forever by Joe Ely. Oddly I found this band from Texas listening to Chris Knight on Pandora. Band is called Lost Immigrants. Not very similar to Knight but a nice brand of country with some good hooks. sdgord
Seasick Steve, Paul Butterfield, Pigboy Crabshaw, Duster Bennet, Doug Sahm and the Sir Douglas Quintet. Always liked Sir Doug, when I was a kid, and I am only now discovering how truly talented he was and innovative. Duster Bennet was the harp player for John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. He did a lot of stuff on his own and played a complete range of music from skittle to rockabilly and delta blues. Just found out about Seasick Steve and I am really liking his stuff.sdgord
