Corn is tasseling. Gonna pitch a tent out back w/Jake, a spotlight and a 12 gauge every night for the next month. Wife wont miss me as long as I save the corn crop. The masked bastages know exactly, to the millisecond, when the first ears are at their sweetest and ready to be picked.

Mission accomplished folks.  Brad has gone from trapping and releasing in somebody else's yard to spotlighting and blasting the corn hustlers!

It was nice of Brad to drop Stinky off next to the highway.

You go with that 12 ga and you're just gonna end up mowing off the stalks at about coon-eye-level. Bad plan.

..........

What I know about racoons aint much, ‘cept if you sell a dead one in Georgia: ‘ya gotta leave at least one claw on it so folks don’t get suckerd into buying a cat?’ That an they got mad homing skills …and agree; you’re gonna wanna reset that trap?!

Back on the plantation Willie was a crazed coon hunter and when he finally caught the old barn one in a HaveaHeart and kept it caged near the kennel, feeding it Purina to beef it up and “use for training” on his pup black and tan.

Once he finally let it lose about 3 miles away in a lone hundred acre tract he was “allowed to hunt” (a point of contention amongst the deer guides-long story); …within a week that big boar had made its way back into the old abandoned barn, and Willie was sure it was “the same one”!!

I was too, and only reason I remember this so well is it was something we agreed on; in fact it was the only thing we agreed on in the two years I worked with that old fool?!
