UPDATE: Raccoon Catchin

You're a good sport, Brad.

Yeah, he says a bed on the porch if he gets back, but just wait until he gets back in that corn. He'll be driving him to Alan's front yard.

I believe the socially correct thing to do would have been to have him neutered prior to release. That way he could have lived his natural life without adding to the excessive coon population. Don't you read any of the stuff PETA puts out?

Research says anything over 5 miles should do it. I tripled that. If he actually makes it back I am gonna set up a dog bed for him on the porch.

He'll have deserved it.

Let's quote this for historical purposes.

Day 3. No coon.

I am in deep doo doo though. I bought 1/2 dozen ears of corn from a roadside veg stand yesterday. "Native" Maine corn they said. Looked good, kept it cold and in husks just prior to boiling it up for supper. The sugar content was about -0. It wasn't sweet corn it was tasteless corn. "Native" my ass, if it was then it had been sitting around in the sun for a week. Jo Ann is pining for the home garden sweet corn...

Making a new sign today that will say. Go Away Wind & Stinky PLEASE?

Candy bought some at Hannafords last week that was just incredible.

May not be "native" but it's as good as any I've ever had.

Funny thing is I went to a Hannaford right down the road from the veg stand just after buying the "native" corn. Felt smug as I watched the shoppers checking the ears of corn there. That was until I bit into the tasteless cob.

Research says anything over 5 miles should do it.

Actually, the link I posted back on the second or so page says they will routinely find their way back from 10 miles or more away.

Just sayin'.

I must have missed that part when I clicked and read your link.

the roadside stands around us have become a joke, you have no idea where any of it comes from.  I know damn well "Johnson's Farm" in Nowhereville, MN doesn't grow pineapples and kiwi's.

You should bring the coon to the roadside stand when it comes back.
