toddh
There were an overabundance raccoons at my previous residence (a suburb of Minneapolis). They started getting into my bird feeders and leaving calling cards on my deck. The last straw was one night I heard a commotion on the deck, flipped on the outside light, and there sat an adult with six little ones on the deck railing. I found out that if you open the deck door wide enough, you can shoot a .410 from inside the house and not wake up the whole neighborhood (wear ear plugs). I live trapped 26 of damn things that summer. None survived. I moved the next summer so I couldn't keep a tally to see if my efforts had any affects on the population. Kill 'em all and help out your local ground nesting bird population.

bosco mctavitch
I drove him 10 or so miles away...and let him go. Only 10 miles, huh? Handy information to have for the hobbyist raccoon relocator.
WPG Gizmo
OK the ones we trap at work along with the skunks go to a wildlife rehabilitation center where they learn the proper way to be around people. Really they do we can not release them back into the wild That is unless I catch them in the Have A Heartless trap and as my mother taught me I teach them to swim. My mother has a small graveyard behind her house in Maine that holds somewhere between 40-50 rodents.
rprovines
I've caught them before and if you don't deal with them right off they dig the dirt through the mesh in trap and pee and poop and generally wreak. And I know you're trying to improve yourself, so let me help a bit, I believe this should be 'reek' if you're speaking of the odor as your reference inferred. Of course if they did indeed dig and pee and poop, then they would be 'wreaking'. Could you please clarify?
Briarscratch
The 6 year old just spotted the first groundhog of the summer. Now we know who has been tearing up the garden. Time to dust off ole Blackie. (seen here in the hand of a famous Orvis spokesmodel)
PartridgeCartridge
Handy information to have for the hobbyist raccoon relocator. Interesting. I just found out you can freight forward, FOB, an animal to an address. Say,... Ron's address. And here's the interesting part; He has to accept the package and the shipping fees or a cruelty/endangerment to animal charge will be levyed. PM'd you his address minutes ago.
