jbeck
Hi all, For everyone that has expressed interest in the other post, this will be the official sign-up thread. The rules: - There will be 12 tiers (first 12 people to commit in this thread are in) - We will be tying trout flies with upland materials (using at least some material from a bird / rabbit you have shot while hunting) - Each tier will tie 13 flies - the extra fly will be donated to Brad for use how he sees fit - Commitment deadline - Saturday, January 22nd (this is when people need to commit to tying and declare what they are tying). - Completion deadline - Flies should be completed and in the mail to me by March 1st. I'll PM the participants my mailing address. Flies will be mailed to the tiers as soon as possible after they have all be received. - Flies should be mailed in some sort of reusable container (Altoid boxes work well). Put your real name, UJ name, and mailing address in or on the box so I know who to return it to. Let the fun begin! I'll be tying a bead-head, pheasant tail nymph.
Field Grade
Thanks for setting this up, John. I'm in... just gotta figure out exactly what I'll be tying. Probably a brown stone nymph w/grouse hackle legs. That's been a deadly pattern for me in the Catskills. Rob
Escopeton
hey Jbeck, I wanted to do a B/H pheasant tail, too. How about a Copper B/H? If not, I can do a pheasant tail Klinkhammer. I will let you choose. The pheasant tails are from birds taken in KS.
jbeck
I'm ok with either. I've personally had good luck with coppers, and I've never fished a pheasant tail Klinkhammer. It's a win/win either way!
Wildbird
If it's ok...I'll be doing a tellico nymph and will incorporate some pheasant feathers from KS.
