WindyHills
Why, don't the CO's get a layoff notice too? Nope, most all of them will be working. Same with state patrol. Other reminders....bear licenses, auto licenses or tabs that need renewal, even buying a car--do it today or wait until they can get their sh$t together, whenever that is.... J.J.
Are the game wardens considered critical services during a state shutdown??? Just saying. I don't endorse non- licensed hunting, or government shutdowns, but my opion doesn't seem to detour state officials.

WindyHills
Are the game wardens considered critical services during a state shutdown??? Yes...they do much more than just enforce game/fish laws. They are often the first point of contact and heavily involved in water/backcountry emergencies. The last time this happened they also were run around doing all kinds of things from checking dams so they wouldn't blow out to makings sure state facilities and watched and closed. Then they are licensed LEO's as well, occasionally much needed for normal LEO work assistance....

Legislative majority wants to make it up with only cuts. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/30/us/01minnesota.html Lots of hardline ideologues have replaced the moderate old guard and now the state is in serious trouble.
