gundogpa
To pay the bills, I somehow got put in charge of the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department. BTW....the other night one of your Owls flew down and killed one of my Pekin ducks. I figure I have about 3-400 bucks into it if you count the loss of eggs. Do I send the bill to you for reimbursement? Does it go directly to Shummy? I would take that amount in food stamps if it would be easier for you. (yes I do have the sales slip and documentation of the poor duck that your owl murdered) Also I would like to know when you will be coming to take care of that killer owl? I only have three ducks left and I would hate to see you have to pay for more dead ducks. signed, taxpayer.
Tim Frazier
I've got the MOST secure job in the world. Supt. of a wastewater plant. Most boring job I've ever had - but great benefits. I can work 8 to 14 hours daily - my choice. I can work 5, 4 or 3 1/2 days weekly - my choice. I can work Sat. and/or Sun. - my choice. I get almost 8 weeks paid vacation annually and I can cancel days off if the weather changes and screws up the hunting and fishing. My boss is an outdoorsman so he understands. He also will let me take extended days off - up to 28 days in a row! I make decent money, great insurance and work out in the country. Haven't had a pay raise in 4 years, but I'm not going anywhere! I'm pretty close to thinking "you win" State retirement with that?
pig pen
I train IDD's (improvised explosive device detection dogs) and their military handlers for a government contractor. It's a very rewarding gig, but pretty high pressure at times. We usually start with derby aged labs and train them for explosive odor recognition and indication, then cater the handling to infantry patrol scenarios. Feedback indicates that the program has been very effective.
