Mike Krol
Bird hunting... you can't fly fish with setters (I guess you could, but doubt they would add a whole lot to the experience ).

john mcg
Bird hunting. John, I believe you have answered Bobman's serious question with a nonserious answer..... I meant for this to be a fun distraction. The question of course is hypothetical, unless you have a wife that says, "one or the other but I'm over this both thing". My answer is FF, because the season is year round and the dogs and I can have a lot of fun in the woods without the 'shooting' part of hunting.
garyRI
WHAT POSSIBLE REASON WOULD THERE BE THAT ONE WOULD EXCLUDE ONE KIND OF HUNTING OR FISHING FOR ANOTHER. Although I must admit I have no interest in hunting bears over bait. Also when I started hunting birds & ducks I gave away my bow to a nephew (the seasons overlap). I always wonder when someone specifies he is a FLY fisherman (instead of simply a "fisherman") if the pursuit was picked up after watching "A River Runs Through It" and inspired by perhaps a tiniest bit unnatural attraction to Brad Pitt. martydavis
without hesitation my answer would be bird hunting. not enough meat in a fly.
