bntsetter
5 weeks, 12 holidays, 3 personal days and a whole lot of sick time....state worker
Wingman
20 days vacation, 2 paid personal days, 10 sick days, 11 holidays, and, on the workdays before 6 of the holidays, the office closes at noon--today, for instance, heh. Working at home is not allowed, although there are many positions in the company, including my own, in which working at home at least occasionally is far more productive than spending the day at the office. So I use some of the days above to work at home.
Peterson
0 paid (aside from holidays) We accrue unpaid personal days, up to 4 total, if you use one it takes 30 days to get it back. At -4 you are fired. End of January I will get 1 week paid vacation.
caleb
zero. No personal days either. Ditto. Somehow I make do.
bigjohnsd
50 What is it you do the other 2 weeks? Install Motorcycle windshields during the Sturgis Rally. Ahhh, the life of an Itinerant Pheasant Hunter!

caplock
ZERO -- No days off, no vacation. I should go back to work so I could see what it is like to have a day off.
ccavacini
52 weeks. For over 40 years of employment every dime my employer and I gave to the SS fund has been pi$$ed away... so I want to thank all you working stiffs for keeping my social secuity checks in the mail and on time! Yep. Ya'll keep on workin'

Grouse Gunner
40 days-but with comp time, travel comp, and credit hours it could easily double or almost triple if I wanted it to. One of the perks of being a Fed. Oh yeah, and I forgot the 10 (or 11 if an election year) federal holidays...
Curt
I'm self employed so none. ...or whatever I can get away with. X2 Yep, I remember those days. During the 27 years I owned and operated my business I never took off more than 10 days in any year. Of course for the last 16 years I've been on vacation 52 weeks a year so it all balances out I guess. :'>
Ted Moore
I became self employed so I could hunt and fish whenever I wanted. But when work was slow, I had lots of time but no money. And when work is busy, I have lots of money and no time. It sucks. If I want to go away for 4 or 5 days, I typically have to cram about 80 hours into the 4 days leading up to going away. It's almost becoming not worth it...but then again, if I don't go away from time to time, I think I would go truly insane. I typically try to take 1 whole week off in October, then several long weekends until the snow keeps me out of the woods. W/C C
polecat
I still have 400 hours vac. until October 17th.Wait, Minus 8, I took taday off.
erik meade
zero. No personal days either. Ditto. Somehow I make do. I wish I got at least one or two personal days that I could take when I want. I do get an obscene number of sick days per year so I think the less scrupulous take advantage of that in order to get their personal time. I think it is 42 non-accruing sick days per year and 11 that accrue. You use the non-accruing first so unless you are really sick for an extended time you end up storing a great number of sick days.
