It's fine on my iPad...it must be screwed up on the archaic PCs you all use...

Trying posting right from Facebook.

All shoveled out BTW.

Seems like it would have been a good idea to put the car in the garage. ???

We don't have access to the garage at this rental house. The landlord keeps her Harley's (yes, a her and two bikes) jetskis, boats and other toys in there.

Well we just finished snowblowing and shoveling last nights snow storm here in Uath. We have 17 inches on the lawn but we put it down in two storms, two weeks apart. We're running out of places to put the stuff. I can't image (well I can) what you people up in New England are dealing with. I hope you have a beer or three in the fridge. You're going to need them when your done digging out.

The sun is out and it is warming up. I'm going to pour a drink, grab a cigar and enjoy the sun out in the yard with dogs.

a couple pics from today here in the high desert...we'll have water to drink this summer.

things I had forgotten but now remember as being true:

1) kids think snow is fun ,,  but they don't like to shovel

2) snow packed down where kids played is harder to shovel

3) cheap tin sheds from Lowes don't have enough pitch - and they will buckle if you don't rake them

4) put your foot forward in your snow shoes so the toes come up when you lift your foot.

5) dark rum, real coke and key lime juice and 3 ibupropen will make the aches go away in 15 minutes.

Kansas Big Dog

Just finished up digging us out and getting stuff straighten out.

First task was clearing he 3 foot drift on the front porch.

We must of had some wicked winds as some of the ground was bare, and some had 5 foot drifts.

Shoveled out the Stallion.

My last task was the most arduous, I had the fire wood stored on a covered deck.

I had to clear off all the snow and re-stack the wood.

Sitting down with a cold one now.

We got somewhere between 27" and 30"; hard to tell what with all the drifting.  Thankfully, today was bright and sunny, so there was a lot of melting and settling.

I'm a bit parsimonious, so I don't own a snowblower.  Shoveled my 4 car driveway yesterday all by my lonesome; took me 4 hours to move the snow that was light and fluffy on top and wet cement for the bottom 10 inches.  I'm a wee bit sore this evening....

We lost power early on Friday night, and it just came back this afternoon.  I was starting to sweat the water-filled heat pipes as my cellar was getting very cold, and a couple of drafty corners had me certain that one more night without power would lead to frozen stretches in the old cast iron pipes.  I've been too cheap to invest in a generator and heater, but am beginning to reconsider that position in light of all the big storms we've had the past few years.

Here are a couple of shots taken 10 minutes ago:

Well, all this talk of a storm got me excited to ski. Except the skiing wasn't that good since the storm was 4 hours south of me....I went skiing, but it was thin and boney.  Screwed up my knee when I hit a rock hidden under the snow and ejected out of both skis...I'm holding everyone in southern New England responsible since more snow here would have alleviated any issues I had.  Hoping its just a strain, fingers crossed!

Oughtta be good for getting work done on a couple stock projects though.

Took me 6 hours yesterday and I was out there for 4 hours today.  Had to shovel off the garage today.  Figured 3 feet of snow from the drifting and rain tomorrow would be a bit heavy.

Steve,

Just the garage.  It had to have been close to 3 feet.  Main house wasn't that bad.  Tried the main house but too icy under the snow.  Today was beautiful so it melted alot of snow off the house.

I think it was 2 or 3 years ago I had to shovel the garage roof and the house roof after a big storm and a predicted rain a few days later.
