I'm not scared.

figured the best we would do was split in Boston anyway.

As I say,

I'm not scared...

Cards have home field advantage now so things are looking good.

Wouldn't be surprised if it goes to 7.

Home field advantage? As long as the Sox take at least one in SL, they'll be coming home to finish things up.

They gave that game away last night, but I was pretty impressed with the Red Birds pitching performance.

Molina is handling that young SL pitching staff well.  To their credit, they just get the sign and throw what he calls - no shaking off signs or drama.

Very, very impressed with what those 22 and 23 year olds did.

If it is a 5 game series, and three of those games are at home, that is home field advantage.

I can't argue with that, but as soon as the Sox win one in SL, home field advantage comes back here.  :<img src=:'>

If the Sox only win game 5, then they head back to Boston having to win two in a row.  They will have home field, but I don't think I would call being down 2 to 3 an advantage...

W'ell just have to see how it goes.

But I'm liking the Cardinals chances at the moment.

Seriously? Home field advantage has nothing to do with how many games the team needs to win there; it's the advantage of playing in the comfort of their home ballpark, with their fans cheering them on. The Cards would need to win three games at home to win the series there. does that negate their advantage of playing at home for these next three games?

If it has nothing to do with who has an edge in the series, then if Boston wins tonight neither team has home field advantage - since they both have two home games left.

All I'm saying is that I like the Cardinals chances going forward with three games at home.  And I would also like them a great deal if they went back to Boston up 3 to 2.   I'd take up 3 to 2 and playing away over down 3 to 2 and playing home.  That is a no brainer.

On an unrelated note - I also like the Cardinals chances if it goes to a game 7 - I think if it comes down to one big game the Cardinals - home or away - have the edge.

We'll see...

Gotcha, I'll feel a lot better about Boston winning the series if they can take two in St Louis, for sure.

Dogwood

SL is a tough place to play period, and with no DH and all those young flame-throwers in the SL bullpen I can't see Boston winning more than one game in SL.

Although I've got no dog in the fight, and I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but for God's sake SHAVE THOSE FRICKIN' UGLY BEARDS OFF THE SOX!!  Those things are gross.  Bunch of millionaire ballplayers gotta grow beards together to show their "unity" or something?  Gimme a break . . . there, I feel better.

Sorry about that.

I just want 7 games.... There are very few things better  than a day in the grouse woods followed by dinner, a beer or three, a sit by the fire and a World Series game.

This year that fine image will also involve having to toss candy at the trick or treaters.

I think after last night's loss we'll see Nava back in the line up.  I'm not a Sox fan but I just can't understand sitting a guy hitting .303 and an OPS .831.

You were right about Nava and he produced, too.

This is a heck of a game, heading into the bottom of the ninth, tied four all.
