bigjohnsd
With one swing of the bat Big Papi evened the game and the series. Detroit may well not be able to overcome the demoralizing effects. Boston in six? Doubtful; in a series momentum, either good or bad, never carries over from one game to the next. What was that you said?

atticus
I thought the game was on this evening.... Not only that, but I went to bed early in game 2 and missed Ortiz's slam.

Please keep this up, Billy. You're clearly bringing good luck to the team by not watching.

If this were true then in the old days when double headers were played back to back (not like now with a day game and then a twilight game) then all the team had to do was win the first game and then the second game was a given. Unfortunately that's not true. I have to say that ALL the games whether AL or NL have been great games. The Cards last year were up 3-1 and then lost 3 straight. We'll see if they can pull it out this year. As far at the Red Sox and the Tabby Cats I think it's going to game 7 to find a winner. Virgil
Mike Krol
Guess I'll have to respectfully disagree on the momentum thing... I think it was a huge factor in the '86 World Series, the infamous Bill Buckner error that allowed the Mets to win game six...lots of positive momentum in NY, negative in Boston. And I like to think momentum was a deciding factor when the Sox barely managed a win in game four of the 2004 ALCS, the rest of which is history. But for now I am back to the Sox, who are 5 down after 3 1/2 innings

gunsrus
John Farrell what are you thinking ? 2nd inning , 3 walks with a bullpen like you have ! It's not like you had nobody to go to ! PEAVY , just reinforces my beliefs that nothing good comes out of CHICAGO !!! But I do like the Black Hawks !
Dogwood
PEAVY = +++++++ How quickly they forget . . . And what's the other chestnut? Oh yea, "Momentum is only as good as your next starting pitcher . . . ". Or somethin' like that.
