Been some nifty stuff in Beantown this week... How many times will you see a left fielder make an unassisted double play like Gomes did?  And Stephen Drew had the chance to make two walk-off hits in the same day last night... Now that's a stat I'll bet you'll never see!

I've been a Red Sox fanatic for my whole life... No small task for a kid living in NY during the Mantle/Maris/Ford/Berra era. 2004 was the most amazing season, coming on the heels of the hurt of 2003 when they didn't pull Pedro soon enough in game 7 of the ALCS. I pay $180/year for the baseball channels so I can watch the Sox nearly every game... Wasted my money last year, but this year has been a hoot. Go Sawx!

Gomes also made a really tough catch in Wednesday's game that took him into the scoreboard hard enough to bounce all of the hanging data points. The next day a Boston Globe sportswriter Tweeted that the team would wait a few days to evaluate the condition of the scoreboard before deciding if it will be put on the DL.

My Dee-troit Tabbies just landed their SS for the next 10 years in Iglesias, thanks to dirtball Peralta's pending PED suspension. Haven't had a SS with his range since . . . never.

Had to cough up Avisail Garcia to the White Sox but I still like it.

Boy would I love to watch Tigers-Red Sox in the ALCS; think it would be highly entertaining.  It's only August, I should shut-up.

PEAVY = +++++++

Change of teams did him good.

Did he do any swearing while pitching?

Got to love a guy that talks to himself while pitching. :laugh:

Aww c'mon guys, we all know that the only REAL league in the MLB is the one where pitchers actually have to hit... :devil:

Peavy eats innings.

My Tigers are looking like a professional ball club once again.

I hope Peralta is not on the list Monday because we need help on the infield without him being sat down for 50 games.

I'd be shocked if he wasn't as would GM Dombrowski; that's why they traded away Garcia to get Iglasias.  Entire PED issue's a fiasco.

How 'bout those Dodgers, with fourteen straight road wins? Wow!

And the Tigers are on a tear right now. I wonder what tomorrow will bring from the commissioner's office...
