And with a left handed bolt action and an orange Stormy Kromer to boot!

That Stormy Kromer is an Up North Michigan Tradition.

I have a few Stormy's, great cold weather hats!

Nice!

I love my Stormy Kromer  For real cold weather I wear it with fold up ear muffs.  My favorite cold weather hat!  Oddly enough I also have green Woolrich pants as well.  Looks like I'm in good company  :<img src=:'>

Great photo by the way!

Nice!  Like the true 'deer camp" photo.  Congrats on the Stormy Brad, I know it was on your wish list.  No picts from here, just a bunch in my head.

I held out for a nicer buck this year that never showed. This was my first deer shot with my inline muzzle loader. Don't mind the face paint, I had my bow with me as well. I was surprised at how effective these inline muzzle loaders are. I can see me using them every year in PA's early season if I do not have a doe down with the bow. The only bad thing is that the opening day of inline season is typically the opening day of grouse season. I am a deer guy but have really taken a liking to grousing, we will see how it gos next year. I may just meat hunt from now on and go grousing the rest of the time.

Kansas?

Your wifeis either tiny or that's one horse-headed doe.

Nice, how may can you take out there, and whats your process in getting the meat back to Maine?

Its definitely a nice doe. A friend shot one a good 20 pounds heavier the other night. Not sure on how many tags you can buy, but our friend out here has bought three. With regards to getting them home, we've got one at the butcher now. Depending on whether he can get the ones we have in the garage done before we leave at the end of the week, I might have to knock these ones down into quarters and bone them out. The friends were staying with have a chest freezer and we've got a 100 quart cooler on the hitch hauler.

Dragged it out by myself in the dark so no field pictures and this is basically the only picture I have. Disappointed that I didn't take the time to get a few quality pictures taken.

Kansas Big Dog

I did not kill a buck this year, but out bird hunting last weekend I saw the buck I would like to kill next year.  He was with this group of mule deer a 1/4 mile from where I deer hunt.

This is a very poor cell phone pic, but you can see him in the middle of the herd looking right at me.

I also saw a nice one right across from where I hunt, but I think this one is nicer.  Next year.   :D

My one and only for the season. But I seen a fair amount of deer, got busted on one small 8 pointer, and got to watch my 13 year old shoot at and miss his first ever archery deer(6 point buck) with his longbow.

I'm still waiting to hear the story of your great 2013 buck, Russell. That is one heck of a nice deer.

+1

Yeppers, deer of a lifetime, for many folks, including me.
