Shouldn't this go in the Big Game Hunting Forum? (insert devil horned Con here...if so inclined)

I vote Skull Mount. They're cool. I've got a bunch of whitetails I've done, and don't regret one. I did get a big 13 point done in a full shoulder mount, but unless I kill another BIG one, they'll all be skull mounts from now one.

I wanted to get as much feedback on the most active forum-it'll end up there like my first Maine Moose Hunt Topic did.. Wise guy. :<img src=:'>

Those who always do the practical thing end up regretting their decision because of "what might have been." Your wife is a wise lady who knows you better than you know yourself. Listen to her.

Get a full mount done.  You'll regret it if you don't.  I look back at some of the animals I've taken and think, "I should have mounted that", but I never look at my mounts and wish I hadn't done them.  Worst case scenario check with a few sporting goods stores or restaurants in the area.  Many of them would love to have a moose hanging in their establishment and may even split cost with you.

Do the skull mount now and tan the cape. Keep the cape until such time as you may have the room and have the full mount done with the cape and antlers over the appropriate form for the mount you choose.

But I'm afraid I'll regret not getting the full mount done since this will likely be the only moose I ever shoot. Even my wife Jo Ann is telling me to go for a full mount because she thinks I'll regret not doing so.

There's your answer.  Do it.  Maybe you can work a payment plan out, it's not like you have any place to store it immediatley.

I think you'll regret not going with the full mount.  Save the Euro mount for the next one.

Round up all the UJ contractors for free labor on the addition you will have to build on the house for the full mount.  Either way would be nice.  Tough decision you have to make.

Have you guys seen Brad's crib?  His new bathroom is the biggest room in the house and he still has to ask his wife for permission to use it.  Unless he wants to spend the rest of  his life sleeping next to a full moose mount, and paying for JoAnn's apartment in Boston, I think he should probably go with the skull mount.

Brad

I voted Full Shoulder Mount, and was going to offer to store it in my living room...but my wife vetoed that...probably for the best...its a long way for you to travel to look at it somethimes :p .

But seriously...When you were planning the hunt, dreaming about the big moose you ended up shooting, what was in that picture in your mind as far was what you would do with the horns...Were you "Dreaming" of a full mount or a skull mount?

I would do what was in the "Dream Picture"...if you don't you will regret it...from the sounds of your post...you were seeing a full shoulder mount...
