Stacking Boxes

Recommended Posts

Last year somebody asked me for a picture of how I stacked my 2 - hole on top of my 3-hole dog box. I had already unloaded boxes for the season. Today we loaded for this year. I use a single ratchet strap to tighten the boxes together.

Do you have to climb in there to open the doors or do you have some slick method for opening and closing them?

Each door has a "slam latch". I use the rod that I pull down the awning of my camper to open and close each door. I also use the rod to guide the dogs into box if the don't really want to go. Rarely have to guide them as I toss a piece of hotdog in there for them

How do you put your gear in there for a long trip and still get to the dogs?

I've got a double cab Tundra and I (sometimes) pull a 17 foot travel trailer. All I need is a pathway for a single dog at a time, I have a system for that I'll post as we pack for ME. I use clothes rod in back for vests, collars, leads, etc...

Dogrunner, here are pics of how I set it up for the ride. I can reach each individual door w/o getting in. Airing the dogs is easy. Once we arrive at camp, the coolers come out and hunting gear is stored in those areas. Fans and marine battery are "as needed". I spray the bottoms of my wood storage platforms with that spray rubber so they don't slide.

I like the paper towel holder.  What are the foam pieces for?

Foam will keep the vests from sliding, right now they are just keeping parts of the wire from fans in place.

Sandy,

I thought you had already posted the answer to my question but I can not find it.  What manufacturer are the dog boxes and what are their dimensions?

Thanks,

Terry
