Thank you. Not exactly a saltbox.  There is a large story and one-half extension on the back with a vaulted ceiling, tile floor, many widows and four large skylights.  It's a great spot to sit on a su

Love it! This is my idea of a camp!!  Myself and a buddy owned two over a period of 35 years. Never had electricity or running water. For about the last 20 years of his career my buddy built cabins, n

I have been watching as well and enjoy the show.  Have the DVR set so I can keep up.

Would like to have the key to a couple of those places.  You know just for few weeks in October.

Agree , The last one I saw they charged $30,000 for a complete rebuild . Just tearing down the deck and steps and redoing would be half that here .

All those love and list its are so phony with prices .

Yes, loads of camps on private and leased land.

But not all are McCampsions like Als...

Some are mere hunting hovels and not fodder for TV renovation...

And should stay like they have been for 75 years...

Although some renovation is a good thing...

You know. You beat me to this post.  I was watching last night as this is one of my favorite shows.  I was just going to ask who watches it and if any Mainer’s knew them.  Makes me want to get a cabin up there and it’s a loooong way up from me

They kind of alluded to the cost thing last night. They were saying that there was something in the building code that said the improvements on a camp could only be a certain percentage of the camp's value without having to jump a whole lot of hurdles. They usually estimate between $25,000. and $35,000. I always thought that was low for what they do.

Think that show was on a lake in Oakland outside of Waterville . I think cheap money for what they do .

We really enjoy watching the show. As mentioned before, Maine looks to be a beautiful state. My high school senior daughter asked me I'd if there were only 25 letters in the Maine alphabet.  She was kidding of course. The silent 'R' is not something she hears very often.
