New Tundra --update

Recommended Posts

atticus

Its been almost 2 months and 3500 miles, and I have stopped mourning my 2002 tundra and started loving my 2018.

I am slowly getting used to all the bells and whistles and really enjoy driving it.  Gas mileage is what my 02 was and it is much more comfortable.  I have added a few updates to the Truck--first was seat covers, leatherette vinyl from Coverking (thanks Al-gunsrus for the recommendation) and Orvis field and stream for the back .  These make cleaning up Jem's hair MUCH easier.  Today I picked up my new cap--I splurged on an ARE Z series with a few extras, flip down front glass, roof racks, power ports and LED lighting.  I think it looks terrific and will be loaded with all my fishing gear tomorrow.

Ready for many more adventures:

true to form, I removed the ARE and local company stickers as soon as I got home--ready for a UJ decal.

Looks awesome Billy.  Same exact 12V and LED setup as my ARE on the Big White Truck.

You will love it.  Flip on the LEDs tonight and you will love how it is daylight in there.  Going through gear early morning or evening will be easy.

Can't wait to see it

There is a switch on the dome light.

You must be taller than me, I struggle to reach it.

You will love that truck. I have an 08 with about 145 on it, other than a few dents I have put on it and a few missing new features you would think it was new. Never had a truck hold up so well.

It has a lot to live up to. My 02 bought in 01 made it 335k. The original timing belt on that one was changed at 275k+-  this one has a chain!!

as I’ve previously posted. This is like going from a biplane to the space shuttle. Amazing what technologies they put in vehicles now!

Very, very nice rig, Billy!  I think I'd go for one of those if I could buy a new truck.  Sure makes my ancient, beat-up Jeep look like the POS it is.  Oh well, the price is right on the Jeep.

I have a 06 with 90,000 on it and want a new truck!  They are to big and at 75 years old the 06 might  last until I go sit under the Burroak.
