Mendota Skid Plate

X2   i have bought others. Including Filson. Mendota covers the best. Affordable.

I have this one. It is light and as good as any. I'm not crazy about how they can get hung up in brambles, but I like it for the open spaces out west---so far.   https://www.gundogsuppl

For my dogs the Sylmar vest mentioned above is the best fitting and most durable.  All vests cause some degree of chafing if the dog puts on enough miles, but the Sylmar defintely causes less.

I use this one. Fairly Heavy duty nylon, this is our third season wearing it and it is holding up well. Its not as easy to put on as others but I think it does a better job of coverage, especially near my dogs hind quarters where he has a lot less fur to protect his skin. On warm days I soak it in water before we go out.

There are a few other dog vest topics lately. Too lazy to go look.

Cabelas rip stop works for me, and Cash when I need or want him to wear it.

Even a died in the wool setter guy needs to speak out about how cute a spaniel can be.

😉

Give him a hug for me, Brad.

Does Cash prefer mousse or gel to maintain that coif?

Lion Country Supply for mine. Get about 2 seasons out of them. They're light enough that mine don't overheat.

Sylmar for this season. My dog trashed a Lion Country last season but sure got my money's worth!

I used Lion Country's vest until it started looking like the one on the right above. It's now for hot weather, and as a backup for the Sylmar vest, which has served my girl well.

I like the US Made Mendota Skid Plate because of build quality, protection, and ventilation.  Front Range Gun Dog has the Mendota Skid Plate in stock and has a great customer rewards program.
