Tesla popularity.

At my home in Silicon Valley I see dozens every day. They are becoming as numerous as BMWs. At my home in SE Arizona, I only see the occasional stray from Tucson. Another point for Arizona.

Say four  on my noon lunch walk at work. They're quite noticeable because they're parked on the fringes in order to avoid parking lot dings. They out number the Corvettes.

Looks like Tesla will sell better than Prius

Note to self:  Chukarman is one of the good guys.

My thoughts on the matter:

-Acceleration in a Tesla is breathtaking.  FUN!

-Electricity doesn't come from unicorn farts and batteries aren't made of non GMO gluten free wafers.  It comes from coal, nuclear reactors and such.  Our electrical system is already overloaded and in fact could not possibly handle a major increase in plug in vehicles.

-Distance travel in Europe is an entirely different animal from that in the US.  They have a train system that has to be experienced to fully understand just how lousy ours is.   In many places one could get by with a scooter and a train pass with no trouble at all.

-I do not believe Musk is acting in good faith.

S I L has driven a TESLA for two years plus .  He says its the best vehicle is all respect he has ever owned.  He's an  auto-fanatic.  So that comment covers a lot of "hip" prior cars.  I wouldn't think it is practical for my use, but he spends his days commuting to meetings in and around  the SF Bay area and thinks it is very economical to own and suits his purposes .  Im guessing he puts 80-100 or so miles a day on it on average.
