For you Ken Burns and/or country music fans...

CB, the yard man did me a favor when he weed-whacked my DirecTV coax lead into the house.    They had been jacking the fees up for months.  I bought a dinky window antenna which didn't get all stations within 50 miles.  I put up a 20' mast with the Channelmaster 80 mile antenna (good luck on 80) and it doubled my station count bringing in stations up to 54 miles out.  On occasion, I have gotten Charleston which is over 80 miles away.  I have a cheap amp at the feed input in the house.  Sling TV, Netazon (Amaflix?) and I'm set.  Wish I'd done it a longer time ago.  Put your zipcode into this link and see if it's worth the effort.

Ken Burns’s 8 part, 16 hour documentary on county music starts Sunday evening on PBS. He’s a master story teller and the subject should be interesting, at least to (transplanted) Hillbillies like me.

I got a real kick out of my wife as we watched last night. I don’t get much time for TV so we were still on episode 1. She had never seen anything from Ken Burns and was very reluctant to start watchi

First two episodes have been great. Looking forward to the rest of it.

Speaking of George Jones, if they ever do a movie about him, Jim Carrey looks like a young George Jones.

Exactly what I suggested to my wife.  She doesn't much care, though.

Took a while but last night I finished the series.  WOW.

There is no way I can put into words what an amazing job Ken Burns and his folks did.  Even if you believe you don't like country music, you actually do and just don't know it yet.  I will watch it again, it was such a pleasure to see and hear directly from these folks.

9 pm tonight is the making of it for anyone interested. Channel 56 in my area. Kathy Mattea is host. It will also be rerun again tomorrow at 1:30 pm.  It’s 2 hrs long.

Do you know what the show is called?  I looked for it and couldn't find it.  Meanwhile I did notice that PBS has a John Sebastian show tonight about folk music which I'm recording.  Also I stumbled upon this article about Marty Stuart and his involvement with the series when looking for the show you describe:
