ASTRO 220 A POINT ALARM????

Recommended Posts

MUSTANGER7

I use and Astro 220 with DC40 collars is there a way to get a sound tone when the dog is on point??? I seem to  remember it doing that at one time when I first got this system, but having CRS I can't remember if its my imagination and I some how turned it off or whatever???  It never mattered before as I have a Dogtra beeper on the GPS collar and I always ran it on point mode which worked well, now I have setter girl (Kelli) that I rescued last Febuary and who has been trained to turn on the sound of a beep so if I use the point mode and she points she breaks point and comes towards me. The GPS tell me she's on point but without a tone I'm oblivious to it. Any thoughts idea's appreciated!! Pete

Yes there is.  It is not very loud and I went through the settings on every noise option to make the loudest possible.

Since it's your money I am spending 😀 I would upgrade to the astro 430, TT mini collar and get a Garmin Instinct watch also. The vibration on your wrist is many times better than listening for a tone or alarm.

But until then yes there is a tone on the 220, I can't recall how to get there though.

My old 220 saw a LOT of action and still works fine.  It does have a point alarm and, if memory serves, it is in the menu under Alerts.  You may also have to make certain the collar settings are correct so it sends the point notification.  From your post it appears that is already set.

If you struggle to find the correct menu PM me and I'll blow the dust off mine and give you more detailed directions.

I have found it but have little idea how I found it!!!! I've gone through the tone levels not really noticable, gives me another reason to wear my hearing aids, generally I only wear them so that I can hear the beeper collars. Appreciate the help.
