I've been a firefighter for 14 years. The best job in the world, assigned to the best, IMO, engine company in the city.

I work eight 24 hour shifts each month, plus a bit of OT and details. This leaves me a lot of time to hunt.

Prior to this I was a design/structural engineer for an aircraft manufacturer.

As far as what I do, I work in IT Risk Mgmt. for a bank, I tend to see a lot of bouncing orange balls in my dreams if you know what I mean.

And I have no idea what you mean with the orange balls unless you dream of basketball?

Hey Tango, my younger brother flies Sea Kings for you guys('brave guy" said a Herc pilot I know) and is based in Halifax. At least he used to fly them. Just got promoted to Major so I don't know if he will still do that or not.

I turn MS Word documents that someone else writes and turn them into courses for a online university.

I have a job title but it's so grandiose for what I do, I'm ashamed to use it.

It's really great work though, if you like copying and pasting over and over and over and....

I retired from a large non-profit Air Force after 26 years as a fighter pilot specializing in strafing and bombing targets of opportunity. Post retirement found me flying for a rich rancher until he checked out and the jet was sold. Since then I hunt at least four months of the year, play grandpa to four young boys, and raise bird dogs and occasionally work at reducing the honey do list .

Professionally, I'm a twenty-year Property and Casualty insurance underwriter with an emphasis on excess and surplus lines (i.e. crap risks) and a minor in International Property.  For the last five years I've been an analyst for a software company that produces rating and policywriting applications for the insurance industry.  I love it, which is good - underwriting is a dying specialty!

I'm a retired USAF Colonel... flew the F-4 Phantom and when we ran out of those I segued into special ops and Army support.  I did 28.5 years and loved every minute.

Now I am the manager of parking and transportation at a private college in Colorado.

I teach High School English- mostly American Lit.  In the Summer I will be managing The Dan River Company, a canoe and kayak livery/ Jackson Kayak dealer.  

I also work one day a week at a local Lowes Foods store in the meat department.  One day the wife will complete her degree and I will drop that job... one day.
