Was thinking of this photo of my Son today.  Was taken many years ago on his first real river trip. Lower Salmon river and my old Dory.  Was a smoking hot day and a stretch of flat water.  We had a regular stream of kids jumping off the boat trying to pull off a flip.

Days that will live on but never be again.  Thor and I were 1/2 mile or so from Doug and Jackson.  We were working a tight overgrown logging road, as perfect as grouse cover can be for a flushing dog.  Thor was quartering back and forth across the road perfectly and gave me plenty of signal for a left to right quartering shot.  He marked the bird perfectly and brought it to hand.  Can't say I remember the particulars about Doug and Jacksons bird as I wasn't close.
