Blew a 5 fuse for my depth finder.  I haven't but can I use a 10 or will it cause damage?

There’s a reason why there’s a 5amp fuse and there’s a reason why it blew.  Defeating the proper amp rating defeats the purpose of a fuse.

....assuming the proper size fuse was used in the first place.

Thanks.  What I don't know is the correct size to put in.  I'll replace it with another 5.

Can you, yes.  Then if that one blows, just go to 15 amp, 20 and so on.  Sooner or later you will burn out your electronics at the least, or cause a fire at the worst.  You are getting a higher amp draw for some reason.  It is a good idea to find out why - maybe a short, chewed wires, bad connection. My reco, is find out what the amp draw is.  On most fishfinder type applications, they will be 5-10 amp fuses for a 3-7 amp draw.  If you have the correct fuse, then trouble shooting is the next step
