Perk I carry a Gen3 SPOT like the one pictured here when I remember to hook it to my vest. I only use the thing when hunting alone in new areas I'm basically unfamiliar with ie; northern Maine. So far, no rescues required.

traveller2926
I hunt alone. I also travel alone to the rivers until I meet up with my fly fishing Buddy(s). I have an InReach mini that is always in my truck. My travels are usually very early and oftentimes very late and away from home. And, many times I have a dog trailer or drift boat towed behind the truck. Wife can now track every move. Well... almost every move. And, I recently started carrying the Garmin 200i while in the coverts. Note, the 200i is on the plan that can be suspended outside of Grouse season. I am not afraid; but, the confidence or maybe comfort this give my wife results in the freedom to do what I want and when I want and where I want. Remember... the best life has the fewest spectators. I like being alone; but, who knows know who can see those digital tracks. This post started about those taking excess risks because of these devices... very sad and very careless. Best to all...
