I don’t do the bucket list bit, but I do have a few things I’ve set my mind on getting done.  One was to see my 84-year-old father shoot a bird over my English Setter, Archie.     I took my fat

at almost 14yrs old his career is over but a 20 minute walk on easy trails still produces fun now and again

Always nice to get out with a youngster. Nice pair of Springers too.

Finally got a semi-clear shot of Lizzy on a point in the thicket.

Not an upland photo, but all that is left to hunt now, in my state, is ducks!
Otto had to break 1/4” ice to retrieve two limits this morning.

Wish I could get the video to post. But here is a still. My friends Setter Dually pointed this covey at 434 yards from us. Brought Cody my 7.5 month old DD in for the back. Have not trained any backing with him he’s been a natural from 3 months old.

Buck pointing a covey yesterday. Got a little closer and tried to get a better pic and the birds got up. Dropped phone and managed to kill one.

Have pulled more than one blue quail out of a prickly pear patch. Good shot !!

This thread is for hunting photos.  Yesterday, Grouse28, Nancy and I did a training day for the four dogs with some chukars.  I guess that's close enough to "hunting" that the pics should be posted here.  It was very cold, but no snow.

My "good friend" Grouse28 started out the day by dressing my truck in an orange shirt and an orange hat, so it wouldn't get shot (again).  Thanks, buddy....  🤨

Jack is a very handsome dog.  Watching him run with such grace makes me smile.  A couple shots of Jack at work:

Jack has a perfect, classic setter pointing posture - here sharing a bird find with Bliss.  I'm a Brittany guy forever, but I must admit that a classic setter point is a sight to behold.

Dave's female setter, Ti, did very well.

Ti made several nice retrieves including one about 150 yards into the thick woods:

A few shots of Grouse28 shooting his cool little TriStar 28 gauge over Ti:

And over Jack:

Miss Joy is the master of her trade - went right to work out of the truck without any messing around:

Bliss (age 1 year) surprised me in that she instantly understood the game and she went right to work out of the truck seriously hunting.  No crazed puppy running around to get rid of energy.   Nancy took over the cameraman job to get a few pics of the Old Man working with Bliss and shooting my little 28 gauge a400 (note ejected hull in the air):

A good day was had by all; and no trucks were harmed in the making of these pics.  As we came back home, we found a few spectators along the lane:

Greg, you and Dave have some really nice looking dogs. I'm jealous.
