dgfavor
Because hummingbirds are too fast and too small! 🤣 I've been watching this breeding pair (I believe...maybe they are just a co-habitating modern couple, no judgement) for awhile and finally remembered to grab my camera to take a stab at a couple photos of them. I got into good range and patiently was waiting for "the shot" - that dramatic moment he/she/they launches from or returns to their perches. The moment finally came...and I was watching a lone calf that for some reason was walking up the road towards me bawling. So, when I looked back up, they were gone and I missed "the shot". Good news is they are going to be there for awhile I believe - I believe it's the same pair from last year...so I will try and get some action, drama shots and post them up if I get back out there. A couple pretty un-inspiring static shots but I think I've got my settings and position dialed for a re-do. Post up your baldy shots!
idcut
Wish I could! I've tried to take some good baldy shots when the eagles congregate on CDA lake, but being barely competent with a camera, they usually end up looking like a blurry or a non descript spot in the photo.
406dn
While I like seeing bald eagles,, golden eagles make my day. This is the best I could do with a small Panasonic zoomed to the max,,,digitally zoomed to the max. There were two of them enjoying a road killed deer. One was too camera shy that day. munsterlander
I don’t have a good photo to offer, but I found a dead young bald eagle. I was impressed with the talons. That is a size 14 boot toe.

RuffChaser
One flew about 30' over my head yesterday. There are 2 nests within 5 miles of my house. The lens broke on our camera, need to get a new one., They have been around the neighborhood a lot lately. Probably a good time to try and get dome pics.
Cooter Brown
4 hours ago, Dick Sellers said: Damn, Dick. I wish I'd gotten these two in before you posted those of yours. Are those scans from slides? Western UP, 2010, with my little Canon G10.
Dick Sellers
Cooter, yep they were scanned from 35mm slides taken with an Olympus OM1 and a cheep 70-210mm zoom lens. Fortunately the nest was in a tree along a steep river bank. I was lucky enough to also get some similar photos of a great horned owl nest from a similar vantage point. Cold Iron
Hummers and Baldies, with the exception of warblers think they are the hardest to capture but always fun. Hate to think how many rolls of film I would have had gone through back in the day just to get a few keepers.
