Let's see some of your remote temporary camps.  Many of these below were in remote Alaska - some big game hunting and some combination of trout/bird/big game.

Some of those look like sheep hunts.

Yep - a variety of Alaskan hunts, and the last one a blue grouse hunt in ID.

How'd you do on the blue grouse hunt? Looks like you were having a good time!

The blue grouse hunts generally were an adventure, and usually held some good memories - except for the last one!  I had taken a young E. setter puppy along on that trip.  It was a long drive from central MT to ID and involved a couple of pit stops to let the dogs air out.  Unnoticed by me, the pup apparently got into something toxic but didn't show any problems until we established our camp WAY back in the mountains.  I made a frantic attempt to get him to the nearest Vet (which probably was 3 hours away) but he didn't make it off the mountain.

Wyoming 2016 and my son in Colorado 2018 with the view from camp as well.  Not quite as remote as it was supposed to be.  About 2 days before we left he realized he was supposed to be doing math homework all summer so we had to stay near where he could get a signal.  Up at 3:30 hunt most of the day and then he would 'retire' to the tent and do homework until 10pm or so.  He only lasted 4-5 days like that.

That would be quite a schedule to maintain for anybody.

I couldn't figure out why he was dragging every day until I woke up one night and saw this.  He didn't want to tell me how much homework he actually had because he wanted to keep hunting.  Hopefully learned a valuable lesson.

We had a spot a couple miles in that we were going to 'spike' camp at but had to keep coming back to the truck camp so he could start working.

Not roughing it as long as the generator and battery held but we were certainly far from a cell signal.

Most of our remote camping was done in the middle of Upper Red Lake in MN.
